Charles Andrew Royalty, age 88, passed away on January 27, 2019 in Stockton, CA. He was born April 16, 1930 in Crawford, Nebraska to John Royalty and Susan Kudlock.
He graduated form Hayward High School in 1948. He joined the Army in 1950 where he served for three years. He fought in the Korean war during the Korean conflict. He also served in the National Guard Reserve of the Air Force for three years.
He graduated from Sacramento State College. He worked for California Department of Corrections, California Youth Authority and Carpenters of Northern California. He retired from the Department of Corrections in 1992, at which time he and his wife Patricia enjoyed several years of traveling. Charles and Pat lived at Eagle Lake for 35 years until they moved to Lodi, CA in 2013 and then Stockton. They always missed the Lake after leaving.
Charles always had many stories to share with family and friends. In his later years, it was important to him to write down the story of his life to be passed down in his family.
Charles was a member in good standing of the Free & Accepted Masons of California. He joined in 1958 and belonged to the Acacia Lodge Hayward, CA and the lone Lodge where he was a Past Master.
Charles is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia, and his children Debbie Adler (Tim), Donna Cartwright (Chris) and David Royalty (Linda). He is also survived by his grandchildren Becky Vatanparast, Jennifer Cuthbert and Cole Cartwright, also great grandchildren Maya and Ava Vatanparast. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack.
There will be no services held at this time. Interment was at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
